Nelson Mandela Bay pupils in the Nkandla area are struggling to get to school due to the inadequate scholar transport allocated.

Many pupils and parents risk their lives from as early as midnight to get in front of the taxi queue to get to school.Parents says they've engaged the province’s transport department several times and their pleas seem to be falling on deaf ears.

However, the Eastern Cape Transport Department is rubbishing claims that there’s inadequate scholar transport in the Nkandla area.
