Sassa grant payouts run smoother on Day 2

Monday saw hundreds of elderly grant recipients turned away empty-handed after payout points ran out of cash.Security officers tried to ensure there is a one-meter distance between those standing in the lines but the frustrated grant recipients were more concerned about getting the money they desperately need than social distancing.

Hanover Park, Mitchells Plain and some paypoints in Athlone experienced problems but on Tuesday, pensioners said they received much more efficient service.
