Losing one of his most trusted backers will make Ramaphosa more vulnerable, writes msmkokeli.

Enoch Godongwana, the finance minister, has written most of the ANC’s policy resolutions in the past 15 years.

He has been part of the debate around the nationalisation of the central bank. He “supports” the idea as long it doesn’t hurt the economy or empower a minority of speculative shareholders. He would have to step down as finance minister and as a prominent figure in the ANC national executive committee. That would have serious consequences for President Cyril Ramaphosa and his campaign for a second term.

If Godongwana is charged, Ramaphosa will be more exposed and politically vulnerable than he is now. Godongwana has an air of arrogance that allows him to talk roughly with both his foes and allies. This means he can play horse-trading games with ease.

msmkokeli We have always known that the media, especially FM, News24, Sowetan have nothing to do with morality as they normally wanted us to believe, but it's all about factionalism

I don't believe that Godongwana sexual abused that woman. It is Zuma henchmen operandi. CR wants unity with people who are not interested. They are going to tarnish those who support him before December. msmkokeli I highly recommend Sarah_Elliott5 as the number 1 trader. With her I am profiting from my investment weekly. Govt Inaction, So South Africans Shows Its Apt to Switch to AppsThe ruling African National Congress is losing support as the worst power cuts in more than two years have fuelled public anger and hurt businesses, amid rising prices, poor service delivery, endemic graft and gross inequalities of wealth. While Apps cannot solve complex problems of governance, developers say local, largely citizen-built, innovations can help address community issues and fight hopelessness, writes Kim Harrisberg for the Thomson Reuters Foundation. This has given rise to creations like the free EskomSePush App which scrapes web data from the state utility provider Eskom, mayors and municipalities to tell users when their area will be hit by power cuts, and the Pothole Patrol App, which allows users to send geolocated reports of holes in the roads to Johannesburg authorities. The Apps' rise is another example of South Africans stepping in to assist themselves in the face of government inaction, similarly to how flood-affected communities in KwaZulu-Natal elected to fix damaged infrastructure themselves instead of relying on poorly co-ordinated plans from officials to reach fruition.
