SACA calls for entire CSA Board to resign | Sport24news

Cricket South Africa This comes after SACA held a combined meeting of its Players Executive Committee and Board in Cape Town on Friday.

SACA also calls for a full, and independently conducted, investigation into how this crisis has arisen and who is responsible. This should cover at least the last 24 months. "Everyone in cricket, including the players, is dependent on the ongoing health and financial sustainability of CSA. Accurate forecasts over a financial cycle are critical as one has to understand how big the financial problem actually is in order to find a solution to it. We have also just seen the resignation from the Board of CSA of the Chairman of its Finance Committee and its Audit and Risk Committee citing amongst other things financial irregularities relating to credit card use.

"We also wish to reassure cricket fans, and other cricket stakeholders, that SACA will not embark on industrial action with the players during the upcoming England series. We are very aware of the importance of this series to the Proteas and to England, to the many fans from both countries and to the media and commercial partners.

The model of PhD study at South African universities needs to changeCOMMENT: Some universities in South Africa might be tempted to enrol PhD students to get the subsidy attached to them, even if they do not have sufficient supervision capacity. Why? Because more Indigenous people are obtaining these accolades?... 🖕 Absolutely true, these universities should stop being ivory towers but a bacon of hope.Iam saying this precisely because these varsities offered PHDs which end up being useless instead of solving the socio-economic problems in this country.E.g water/power . Neglect begins at Masters level!! Most supervisors are not trained to supervise postgrads adequately - having a PhD does not automatically qualify an individual as a supervisor. Apart from knowledge, there is an art (& commitment) to bring out the INTELLECTUAL best in students.
