Cape Town - An anxious Cape Town mother is panicked after her daughter and fiancé are trapped in the Chinese town of Wuhan, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak. The Chinese government has quarantined the city, where nine people have died so far, to contain the spread of the virus. Roads and other public transit has been shut down indefinitely.

At last count more than 800 cases had been reported around the world - in Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Japan and the US. China has accounted for the highest infections. Kuilsriver mom Simoné van Wyk, whose 24-year-old daughter Savannah de Lange is in Wuhan, is worried about the two who are unable to come home.

Van Wyk says her daughter and her fiancé were meant to leave Wuhan via Beijing on Thursday and land in South Africa on Friday afternoon. But the closure of the airport on the Thursday morning derailed that plan. De Lange spent two years teaching in the country and when her contract ended, she was meant to travel back home with her fiancé who went there for a visit.

Ground breaking although the 60's seem quite far as a benchmark. Given the jobs they've been cutting maybe SA mines has employed less miners since 1960 Could it be bcs they hardly have any staff if compared with 1960❓

Would wage transparency work in SA?That would be a bit embarrassing for certain politicians. They would have to explain where they got all their money!!! R20 an hour is not a minimum wage, it's an insult. Prices are higher than the UK. I cant see how people can live on R20 per hour.

Lindiwe Mazibuko on family leaving SA for New Zealand - 'my parents wish you well'Former DA MP Lindiwe Mazibuko said on Twitter that her parents wished a white SA man leaving for New Zealand 'all the best' Strange how apartheid education gave us black judges, lawyers and here an MP, yet current education under the “rainbow anc” has a 30% pass rate and unemployment at close to 30%!!! Don’t understand your comment about your parents paying taxes, so do the current under privileged.. She is a Swaziland national. Stop blowing smoke up her arse. She was never exposed to Apartheid in Eswatini. She must keep her nose in her own countrymen’s business and fight her Swazi King who seems to be looting the trough in his kingdom. Richard Muller took his own hard earned investment away, if there are people Lindiwe's parents should send a well-wish message to, those are the elusive Guptas, they came here, took over the government, swindled us and took off!🏃🏃💰
