SA author, activist Achmat Dangor dies at 71

Renowned South African author and activist Achmat Dangor has died aged 71. Courtesy ofThe former CEO of Nelson Mandela Foundation is also ANC Deputy Secretary-General, Jessie Duarte's brotherIn the 1970's he formed Black Thoughts along with other writers in opposition to the Bantu Education system.

He was also one of the founding members of the Congress of South African Writers and remained active in the cultural and development sectors.
