Quinton de Kock produced an irrepressible innings once again as the Proteas pulverised Bangladesh in their World Cup meeting in Mumbai, winning by 149 runs.
In gliding to a magnificent 174 off just 140 deliveries, he wasn't just the cornerstone of the Proteas' comprehensive 149-run victory over Bangladesh here at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, he now seems in a mood where he actively wants to chase records. Instead, he exploded, hitting another 74 off 39 balls as he showcased a vast array of strokes and cheekily completing small sideway jumps when he could amble for singles.
The Wankhede surface though didn't exactly have any gremlins and it merely required De Kock and Markram to take their time, which they duly did in a third-wicket stand of 131 off 137. Yet with the shadows dawning over the field, Klaasen went into beast mode again as he finished with 90 off 49.For good measure, David Miller - who was seen trotting around anxiously looking for a hit on this pitch - smashed 34 off 15 as the Proteas unleashed a torrent of runs, 144 off the last 10, in fact.
