President Cyril Ramaphosa says many South Africans are yet to experience the democracy they fought for. Ramaphosa was speaking at Freedom Day celebrations in Makhanda, Eastern Cape.
JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa says many South Africans are yet to experience the democracy they fought for.South Africans are getting poorer: economist"As we celebrate 25 years of democracy we need to focus our attention on ensuring all SA can equally experience the economic benefits of the democracy we are celebrating."
This cannot be a free nation when so many live in poverty, no food, no shelter, healthcare. We can't be a nation of free people when places like Makhanda can go for so long with no clean water. We cannot be a nation of free people when funds meant for the poor are wasted, lost and are stolen.Ramaphosa also spoke out against xenophobia, saying South Africa is open to all.
" We also reject attacks on those who have come to seek refuge in our country. We embrace people who have come to seek refuge. We embrace them from all over the world, our sister countries in Africa. We say SA belongs to all who live in this country."
Get him a becalm pill. This time he must have been 'shocked' to the core. Although he was in top ANC he never knew only government friends and cohorts have to date 'experienced democracy'.
Thanks to the ANC
Many people will never experience democracy because of people like Ramaphosa who used their political influence to amass wealth for themselves. Money supposed to improve lives of all SAns is, through political and business corruption, in the hands of few individuals Greed
We SHOCKED Do you think the ANC has anything to do with that? We know the true thieving ANC. Mr Bossasa Gupta Armsgate Eskom high tax, fuel levy eTols Fat man
A country of 55mln but no more than 20mln vote in national elections - in this lay the biggest problem. Elections2019 FreedomDay
I see 'shock levels' might have just subsided on his part...
👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿
We have heard that many times so what?
I bet he is shocked.
Ahhhhhhhh hawwuuu hehehe
Ramaphosa is South Africa's best bet - but he needs not only to gain support but to adopt a genuine progressive economic and social strategy if South Africa is to get 'out of the woods'

Ramaphosa is not all-powerful and can be replaced, Archbishop Makgoba says'He too can be replaced – and the events of the past 15 months have shown us that we cannot rely solely on changes in the presidency to turn our country around,' Makgoba said. Replaced by who? For what good reason? Who is all-powerful, if I may ask? I don't think we need all-powerful leaders but rather manipulative kind of leadership. All-powerful leaders have brought us this far This is not preaching he talking politics at church.
