President Cyril Ramaphosa insists that the Covid-19 lockdown regulations are based on scientific and economic data

This as pressure mounts on the government to ease the lockdown to prevent catastrophic damage to the country's economy. The government has been subjected to multiple court actions questioning some of the lockdown regulations while several organisations such as the DA, FF Plus and AfriForum have approached the courts to end the lockdown.

In his newsletter, Ramaphosa says he understands it is everyone's right to go to court. Furthermore, he says the government has taken all criticism of its response to the Covid-19 pandemic on the chin.Members of the SA Defence Force were deployed across the country on March 27 2020. Soldiers took to the streets to help enforce lockdown regulations in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus. TimesLIVE spent some time on duty with the SANDF in Alexandra.

“To the greatest extent possible under these challenging circumstances, we aim for consultation and engagement. We want all South Africans to be part of this national effort. The voices of ordinary citizens must continue to be heard at a time as critical as this. “Although we can point to the progress we have made in delaying the transmission of the virus, there is still a long way to go. The weeks and months ahead will be difficult and will demand much more from our people.”

Did the Tokoloshi gave you the data ?

What about the science that proves otherwise? Until it is proven without a doubt with no arguing from other scientists this is all invalid. Vindictive c*nts. Suicidal

Science has not found a way or method to avoid this deadly virus....so how can it be that science tells our president to open the lockdown 🙄🤔....hes making a grave decision in leading our nation into a deadly situation that we might never recover from

We have leadership in PresidencyZA cyrilramaphosa lockDownSouthAfrica. Mr President hang on 🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪

Science of pick pocketing

What is he going to do when its empirically proven that he is following bitch science?

It is amazing how the enemy has changed from virus to lockdown regulations

Bullshit‼️ The MYANC is nothing more than a lying thieving institution that wants to control where food parcels are sent, who wears what, drinks what and smokes what... Oh sorry but they’re coining it on the black market at the moment‼️PresidencyZA WAKE UP

Then pleeeeaaase tel us how the rest of the world missed the 'scientific data' that smoking should be banned, unless you can't

Nothing makes sense people die of natural causes than its Corona the best science is to go to level 1 and see the spread you cannot base our situation with other countries you cannot shut a country down to save 1000 people yet killing 10000 for the aftershock of the virus yoh

Wen u lockedown the country u ddnt lock it by levels why nw using levels to open it. Pple are losing jobs left and ryt because of ur copy and paste from western countries

Same scientists are disputing that.

This science maybe!

This lockdown was based on assumptions, & ill-informed graphical trajectories! Data is not moving in the direction initially predicted, now they speak of 'delayed exponential curves'! Quite frankly, govt has no clue what they're doing! Lifting the lockdown makes them look stupid!

YES BUT IF HE DIDN'T LOCKDOWN IT WOULDN'T SUNKEN AS MUCH AS IT HAD? WHAT HE WOULD SAID WOULD SHORT LIVED PEOPLE TAKE TIME TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTION OF PROTECTING THEM FROM ENDANGERING THEMSELVES?YOU GIVE THEM PRESCRIPTION HE IS IN PAIN HE WILL TAKETHE FIRST INSTRUCTIONS SERIOUS THEN?

Since when does anybody get it right to control people like this. Are they GOD ? I'm sickened and gatvol

What science? Show us.

Except the science is dismissed by NCCC. Science professional will sink the ANC case in a court of law.

Show me one rule that saved lives president dictator.
