JOHANNESBURG - The African Rail Industry Association wants the government to set up a rail advisory committee.The association says giving private train operators the go-ahead, will benefit the government.
"There's a plan in place by the government where they have set themselves 12 months to implement third party access," says the association's Mesela Nhlapo."What we have done as an association, we have positioned ourselves as an implementation partner," she says.Watch the interview for more details on this story.

but definitely short-change the ANC coffers. Mono-rail proposal didn't fly bcoz it was too lean to be of advantage to the ANC. ANC will make sure any projects that don't provide fat for its gravy doesn't see the light of the day.

Private trains, private electricity......my people will wake up once this privatization is complete and their fleecing is in full swing. The poor in this country will not survive this planned future. They won't be there anyway....the vaccines will wipe them out.
