, ANC Western Cape treasurer, Unathi Tshotwana said that while the party were working on a financial plan for the Interim Provincial Committee , they remained unable to offer any guarantees. The provincial treasurer said that the financial task team was set to meet before the IPC meets with Mashatile to discuss the party’s financial crisis.
“At the moment the ANC does not have money, we are having a meeting to find ways to try and sustain our staff and to make sure that they have food to eat,” Tshotwana said. “We have been providing some things for the staff as you know it has been very tough for the ANC nationally and we are not immune to that.”“It’s quite difficult and we are taking this thing very seriously because we know it impacts the lives of people who have given their time and their lives to the ANC.
In response to questions regarding the timely payment of salaries, Tshotwana said that it was understood that the ANC were “doing everything” at a national level to make sure that staff were paid in time for Christmas.“This is Paul Mashatile’s problem now, the top five and the entire National Executive Committee must come on board and make sure that they help and make sure that the staff has food to eat.
“I don’t want to make any promises, but these questions must be directed to Paul Mashatile,” said the provincial treasurer.
