The community of Pomeroy has been submitting memorandums to the government and embarking on protests over the provision of water and electricity - but to no avail.

The resident, who was part of the protest which saw the road being dug up, justified the action.

An ally of the protesters, UDM provincial secretary Boyse Gumede, told SowetanLIVE's sister publication TimesLIVE that the lack of water and electricity in the area has been raised with the Human Rights Commission and the KZN cooperative governance and traditional affairs department but there had been no progress."I understand the frustration of the community; it has been four years of a struggle for water and electricity.

Stupid really why dick up the wholes☹️☹️

Destroying their own infrastructure!! Stupid!!

They must be arrested, vandalism

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sorry the electricity funds will now be used to fix the road and pay for damages to private vehicles 🤣🤣🤣. Eish.....

I seriously want to know who did these residents voted for in the last 4 elections? You can be fooled once, but not over and over again. Our people need to realise the most effective weapon they have is at the ballot box

Why the anarchy though. Do they really think that by destroying the roads they will have electricity

Vote the people who will provide you with required services finish and klaar.

May they please continue to vote even harder and in more numbers. Oneday they will get help

You’re hungry then you spill the little food you have in protest you now remain more hungrier and stupid

Very smart. Now they dont have a road. Should there be an emergency, the ambulance wont reach the affected people on time. 😭😅🤣😂😭😅🤣

De voted anc, de must enjoy de are vote

Now they can totally forget about getting it. Councillors will have a valid excuse of not being able to reach the place, coz of the road.

What party did they vote for? You get what you vote for

Thats Thuggerism

The community is tired and understandably so. This tender was issued three years ago but the contractor and our councilor who is also mayor colluding and chowed the money! They must pay it back and provide people with electricity.

When water or electricity comes they'll breaks the taps and electricity poles demanding road to be fixed the struggle continues

This Realy needs to stop

Here in Limpopo if you dig tire roads police ll arrest you very quickly.

So i take it no one in this place has a car lol! Because well

Digging the road won't solve their problems🍺🤣💔

Did they run out of schools to burn down?

And now they don’t have a proper road.🤭
