Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Anne had been rushed to hospital via a statement on Monday 24 June. Princess Anne was said to have been hospitalised as a precaution after an “incident” at her home on Sunday evening . The daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth and late Prince Phillip, known as Princess Royal, was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, UK and was said to have sustained “minor injuries”.
“The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery,” read the statement.
“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery,” the statement continued.reported that Princess Anne suffered a concussion after she was kicked by a horse. Princess Anne reportedly suffered temporary memory loss after the incident, according to“The fact the Princess Royal was detained in hospital overnight indicates that it’s not a minor matter.
Princess Anne was first married to Captain Mark Phillips from 1973 to 1992. Months after she divorced Phillips, she married Sir Timothy Laurence in 1992. Princess Anne is a mother of two – Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall.reports that Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence visited Princess Anne at Southmead Hospital for two hours on Tuesday 25 June. After leaving the main entrance of the hospital he said that she is doing fine.
He continued: “We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal.”
