The standoff between Pravin Gordhan and Busisiwe Mkhwebane played out in court on Tuesday when top legal minds argued over whether her suggestion that he be disciplined should be suspended.

The Economic Freedoms Fighters were there too, and they came out swinging for the public protector as Gordhan tried to block her remedial actions against him.

It seems only physical pain will awaken SAns. PP tried to fight for SAns & came close to touching the bulls eye but the System that works for the rich (Courts, SARB, Government, etc) is fighting back very aggressively. Why must a political party defend the office of a chapter 9 institution .I pretty sure our constitution will defend it without ulterior motive .

PP 'forced' to oppose Gordhan's bid to interdict remedial actions | IOL NewsPublic Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane lawyer told the court that she is opposing the application of the Minister Pravin Gordhan ... In other words, the costs occasioned by her opposing the interdict is completely extra-judicial, but because she feels personally slighted. To me that seems like a completely juvinile approach unbecoming the PP. On that level you need to retain objectivity. Ramaphosa must stop defending his friends, what are they scared of? Are legal arguments not drafted by lawyers? Is this not a case of two legal teams fighting with one another?
