President Cyril Ramaphosa trended on social media after making a 'light-hearted point' about his iPad being 'stolen'.

GCIS

The incident took place on Tuesday, while Ramaphosa was in Cape Town for the establishment of the Transnet National Ports Authority as an independent subsidiary of Transnet. In a now-viral video clip, Ramaphosa can be heard saying someone “stole” his iPad. “I had my iPad. Do you know where they took my iPad to? This is the problem of always handing out your gadgets to other people. It's always best that I keep all these things with me all the time. I had my iPad, I had it in my hand. It's gone. I lost it, it seems.”After iPad topped the trending list on Twitter, the presidency said Ramaphosa was making a “lighthearted point” about it being “stolen”.

‘It was found in Fikile’s suit’: nine hilarious reactions to Cyril Ramaphosa’s ‘stolen’ iPadThe presidency issued a statement saying President Cyril Ramaphosa was making a “lighthearted point” ahead of his speech, but that didn't stop social media users from having a laugh. What is forcing you to lie, Ramaphosa starving everyone even people next to him are turned to be thiefs. And he knows that hence he could even say it on a national TV that he doesn't trust even people next to him. Why doesn’t he concentrate on stopping inflation which is killing the public! Theft should never be a 'lighthearted point' in South Africa. Not when our lives are turned upside down by thieves. Theft is a serious malignancy in this country, and should never be taken lightly.
