South Africa Headlines News

NKARENG MATSHE | The fact is showboating adds absolutely nothing to the game. It's meant to humiliate, mock and belittle. It doesn't belong in the professional game. Even more preposterous is the claim that it's our 'culture'.

Naturally, some who have not followed his stance on the matter felt it was another case of Mosimane being a"sore loser" and attacking unjustifiably an opposition player.

But the reality is Mosimane had a point. Makaringe did his tricks with well over 30 minutes to go, his team - trophyless for six years now - only a goal ahead and largely under pressure. It was a futile exercise, but one which - thanks to Mosimane once again highlighting it - has helped enhance debate as to where we would like to see our professional football heading.

I love it

Unfortunately South Africans go to stadiums to see the art and it’s not about a goal scored, it’s the how😳development does not mean westernization!!

If the supporters love it then it does, otherwise play in empty stadiums

This Pitso thing is annoying he must mind his own business

This is journalist that giggles all the time when Pitso speak during press conferences, they fail to counter him with tactical questions.

Tsek!

Keep your opinion to yourself, you call it showboating, we call it kasi flavor, if you don't know its origins, that's now our problem.

According to this journalist players must run around chasing the ball like headless chickens. O kase se re bone stadium.

It's just your opinion as well 😂🤣

Which is why we will never dominate African football, let alone world football. Culture my foot.

Poor by Nkareng and TheRealPitso is wrong. If show boating is meant to humiliate the opponent, then it adds value to the game because the show boating player is not easy to mark and therefore, the attacking team gains advantage. Let's not self colonize, we are better than that

So what humiliates more than losing a game of soccer? Soccer is a game. U use every trick to win and demoralize the opponent. Muhammed Ali did same. In basketball they do same. This is an opponent who is out to win over you. Don't kill our game with European semantics

Hayi suka!

If you ever played football you will know that mocking your opponent is part of the strategy to frustrate, him/her and take advantage of that if he/she is not mentally strong

This just a just game, we mock, insult and humiliate each in the field of play, all within rules, breaking the rules the referee is there. So stop it. Bafana in the previous years was playing this rigid football, how far did they go in the world?

🤫

You are contradicting yourself. It does absolutely nothing to the game, but it's mean to mock, humiliate and belittle. Pick your side boss. A score of 4 nil, 6 nil is mocking, is belittling and humiliating to the opponent, must we then say we stop at 3 nil?

When Nkareng and Pitso started watching South African football? If he wants to be a friend of Pitso he must approach him not use showboating debate

You are captured by oversees influence.

This is another bitter Sundowns fan

Bathung Dikeledi needs to relax

I think you forgot to see the importance of most fans and their entertainment, mina i encourage it and hope to see more of such

Who wrote this shitty article. This is not Spain this is South Africa, if you heared the cheers to Makaringes skill expression, you'd know that what entertains the fans. There_is_no_football_without_fans

Nkareng areng tota?

Nope! Reading this was a waste of my data.

Honestly Pitso - Manqoba Mnqithi is the man who has to take great credit for Sundowns recent success. Yet you’ve never given him the credit he deserves. I wish he’d have the courage to go his own, ply his trade and one day coach a big club. I have no doubt he’d be a huge success
