There were several international and local factors that contributed to the increases in petrol and diesel prices

With no reprieve from the South African Reserve Bank on interest rates, South African motorists will have to dig deep into their pockets with another hike in theMeanwhile, illuminating paraffin will cost 29 cents per litre less, while the price of LP Gas decreases by 19 cents per kilogramme.It said the average Brent Crude oil price increased from 82.50 US Dollars to 84.22 USD per barrel, during the period under review.

“The diesel, illuminating paraffin and LP Gas prices decreased on average due to seasonal changes in the northern hemispheres as they move away from their winter season.The department said the rand appreciated, on average, against the US dollar during the period under review when compared to the previous one.
