Pegasus rides again -

The latest leaks out of the Pegasus project should terrify you. They represent the dystopian vision of our nightmares, where world leaders, activists and journalists can be targeted for surveillance.

Now, thanks to leaks by the media coalition known as the Pegasus project, we know that several world leaders have been earmarked as people of interest. These include French President Emmanuel Macron, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and our own president, Cyril Ramaphosa. Would we be told if they picked anything up? One would think it’s unlikely given that doing so would be to admit to porous vulnerabilities. That’s something the presidency and intelligence clusters wouldn’t want given that they are being criticised for failing to predict and prepare for last week’s violence and looting.

Reading the latest news out of the Pegasus project gives the impression that such caution is not misplaced. A picture is painted of figures pulling global strings in dark, private rooms.reportedly happily came to a deal with NSO
