😳 Having previously claimed ex-Premier League colleagues of his were against having gay footballers as teammates, Patrice Evra has now named at which club in England this alleged homophobia occurred. SLInt MORE:

The Frenchman's most successful spell in England came during his eight years at Manchester United between 2006 and 2014, but he also had a short spell at West Ham United in 2018.

In an interview earlier this year, the ex-Juventus and Olympique Marseille left-back talked about how he had some teammates at a club in England who were openly against playing alongside gay footballers, before revealing he had some colleagues come out to him. Evra recently touched on the same topic, this time stating that it was at West Ham United where certain players had declared they would not feel comfortable sharing a dressing room with those with different sexual preferences. The Mid Point"I give the example, when I was playing for West Ham, someone from the English federation came and he said 'we need to accept everyone' and the amount of players that were like 'no, if some of my teammates are gay, they have to leave now.

"I stand up and I say 'shut up, shut up everyone, can you hear yourselves?' We still don't accept everyone. In the football world, they are not open-minded enough and it's a shame. "I understand [their fear] because even myself, when the players they were coming to me, I was like, be careful because if you say it loud you see the reaction of all the players. But I will support you and because I had such a power in the dressing room I will protect [you], I will support you."
