ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba says his party will be suing President Cyril Ramaphosa and police minister Bheki Cele over the damage to properties and widespread looting in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba says his party will be suing President Cyril Ramaphosa and police minister Bheki Cele over the damage to property and widespread looting in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. File photo.ActionSA has issued a call to people who were affected by the violence and looting in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng last month to share their stories and join the party's class-action lawsuit against the ANC.

On Monday, Action SA leader Herman Mashaba announced that over 200 businesses have joined the party's ground-breaking lawsuit against President Cyril Ramaphosa, police minister Bheki Cele, members of the security cluster, and the ANC. Mashaba said the party was suing the president and the government for failing in their legal obligation to uphold and maintain law and order during the unrest.

“There is no doubt that the provinces of KZN, Gauteng, and, indeed, the general SA economy, will have an exceedingly long road to economic recovery,” said Mashaba. “It is without a doubt that the loss of life and livelihoods must be laid squarely at the ANC’s feet. Now more than ever, Action SA is determined to ensure that South Africans receive justice and that those responsible for the destruction we have seen are held to account.”

Please add lack of policing, we also cannot do our daily work, armed robbers in the Roodepoort areas we work daily, no drivers licenses available to book in Gauteng.

Useless DA antics. It's true when they say old habits die hard. Mashaba must come up with something new or return to the DA if he can't shake it's publicity stunts off his back.

Sue them my President

Sue them Mr Mayor they need to shape up or ship out! Tired of useless anc!

I had too much faith in this gentleman but as for this he is afraid of the top dogs who masterminded this, now he wants take on someone who is blame left and right like he also took part in the planning of this. 🤦🏽‍♂️ South Africa.

This is just a publicity stunt. ActionSA is starting to go the same route as EFF. Populists all use the same recipe.

To WHAT BENEFIT WILL IT BRING BESIDES USING STATE FUNDS TO FOLLOW ALL THOSE ACCUSATIONS. WASTE OF TIME. HE MUST RATHER ENGAGE HIMSELF INTO HELPING THE PEOPLE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. POLITICAL FIGHTINGS WONT EARN HIM ANY POINTS OR VOTES UNLESS HE IS DOOMED TO FAIL.

As if there's isn't enough court cases already. My friend apply your mind to something constructive please

By now he should have known better that there is one man that will never loose a case in our courts.

I watched a documentary on a few nights ago about the 92 riots in Los Angeles. It's uncanny how similar it is to what happened here. Forces deployed late, looting, intentional arson, Koreans turning on black folk... Suing isn't gonna solve anything.

Says the ex-mayor that achieved so little.

Only in South Africa 🇿🇦. He must also include Judge Zondo.

Sue on who's courts 🤣🤣🤣

we should not have these useless parties either that spend all their time suing each other and wasting our time and not delivering services. Our politics is a circus and the rest of the world can see just how pathetic our nation has become

Good idea, [NOT] keep them busy so they can do even less work to serve the people. You sue government, say you win, which/whose money is gonna be used to pay for all this? Find better ways to have credibility Herman.

Wat do u want to sue for there isnt money anymore and sue is not going to solve the problem wasting courts time. Stop trying to make more money... the looters should be sued. No one understands cr can only do what he can but his poeple let him down.he need everyone to unite

Plotters of violent protests ’wanted to derail Ramaphosa’s fight against corruption’The ANC and SACP are united in their belief that the plotters of the violent July protests were the work of renegade ANC members who allegedly want to stop President Cyril Ramaphosa’s fight against corruption and public looting. There is no fight against corruption so long the man in the picture is not charged yet evidence was presented at the zondo commission. These are just factional battles. That is totally rubbish. He want to be trusted by Ramaphosa factions within the white monopoly power control. You clearly are his defenders, where is R500 billion? I've never seen you question him about it, there's no corruption in this country the natives are stealing crumbs while whites possess the land and the reserve bank,.
