Opperman implicates Koko in State Capture StateCaptureInquiry

Responding to Judge Raymond Zondo at the judicial commission of inquiry intoin Parktown, Johannesburg, he adds that there was a 50% increase in out-of-specification coal.

Opperman says Koko’s request was not in accordance with the contract, and the coal should have been rejected. He says he expected his manager to engage Koko on the matter because he was too junior to say ‘no’ to Koko. Coal Supply Contract Manager, Gert Opperman has told the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture that his manager, a Mr Ncube may have been pressured to cancel a pre-certification audit on coal from Tegeta’s Brakfontein colliery.

Opperman says his team supported the idea of an audit because there was a increased number of failed stockpiles from Brakfontein. Opperman says shortly after the cancellation of the audit, a contract for coal testing with SABS was also cancelled. He says he was informed that coal testing would now take place at Kendal power station, which was not certified for testing.

We're paying for corruption, but at least jail looms for the lootersBrace yourself. There is pain awaiting you and many other ordinary South Africans in the coming years. This week the National Energy Regulator of SA announced it had approved electricity tariff increases for the next three years. This means you will now be paying more for electricity than you have ever done. Jail is the very least that can be done for the inconvenience. But the Hawks and the NPA have really let the country down - accomplices in treason. 100s of billions of rands will have been moved out of bank accounts while it's only the media holding thieves accountable. Wonder what the reason is that he is not on jail yet. As a citizen i am angry at him. Je is the reason i must pay so much for electricity. It looks like it was a big party of 'me too' at Eskom
