The Oppenheimer family has secured a court interdict in Zimbabwe to block mineral exploration at its cattle ranch in Matabeleland South. | CdeLENIN

The 65 000-hectare Shangani Ranch holds at least 8 000 cattle and is believed to be rich in gold, silver, copper, antimony, lead, cobalt, manganese, zinc, nickel, chrome, graphite, and lithium.

Harare High Court Judge Siyabona Paul Musithu ruled that Pearline Mineral Exploration should stop"mineral mining activities whatsoever", at the ranch. The Oppenheimers argued before court that the farm had 400 employees who run an operation that exports beef to the United Kingdom. They said they hold 8 000 cattle at the ranch.

As such, Justice Musithu ruled that mining activities would affect the community as well as wildlife conservation. But it was reduced by more than half when the late president Robert Mugabe began the chaotic land reform that resulted in at least 4 000 white commercial farmers being displaced.

CdeLENIN This is what bo Simba Chitambo should be fighting for instead of fighting so hard to be South Africans 🤷

CdeLENIN Now you see why white capital & their foundations in South Africa wants zimbabweans invading all our townships, illegally & permanently here. We were traded off

CdeLENIN kaunda_bongi Come this side and see this. Zimbos have been calling us stupid, telling us how whites own our land and that they, zimbos, own their land in zim.

CdeLENIN Afrika tsoga!

CdeLENIN Lol

CdeLENIN Where are the Zimbabweans 😁😁😂😂😁

CdeLENIN They must dig that rench maan!

CdeLENIN Zimbabwe was once the food basket of Southern Africa , because of their white , black and whatever colour farmers. Look at them now ? Don’t blame the Oppenheimers. Look in the mirror.

CdeLENIN Banyise opperheirmer

CdeLENIN Is there still law in Zimbabwe? I thought when they say the conditions of ZEP are still the same they meant that everything has collapsed.

CdeLENIN Hahaha.

CdeLENIN Now it makes sense why the Hellen Suzman want all the Zimbos to stay in SA 🇿🇦 🤔and never go back to Zim

CdeLENIN Who owns land in Zimbabwe 😳 . I thought white ran away forever

CdeLENIN People on Twitter should seriously consider reading the actual article before tweeting.

CdeLENIN Taking care of my debts and giving my family the best financially is what I have long waited for, Brandonkaren11 thank you for helping me gain financial success. through your Bitcoin mining platform

CdeLENIN Fair enough, mineral exploration is better than cattle ranch where only family benefits are available not employment for community at large like mines.

CdeLENIN The court must just rule against the family, so that they give instructions to send all Zimbos home. The NGO's will also withdraw the case, why would they continue if their funder's farm has been expropriated without compensation.🤷

CdeLENIN Dafuk!? Doesn't Zim hold imminent domain rights over all the land in its borders? Cattle on a ranch blocking the economic boom that comes with gold mining doesn't make sense, even if it's a ranch full of those mythical ankole!!? & Then we have the Oppenheimer angle to balance ...

CdeLENIN Opeinheimers are busy looting both SA and Zimbabwe while black natives are encouraged to kill one another for Nada.

CdeLENIN And this is one of the funders of the Helen Suzman Foundation

CdeLENIN His companies have been exploring in other people's farm for decades.

CdeLENIN Thanks for restoring my happiness in my darkest days, during those period I invested $500 and to my greatest surprise I got a return of $5,500 in just seven days he's reliability can't be equated BernardMason07

CdeLENIN PhalaPhalaFarmGate All the beneficiaries must also be arrested

CdeLENIN That must have been a Friday Joke! The Crocodile runs the courts in Zim, unless the application was brought by one of the Ndebele war veteran, yes Zanu PF will look the other way!

CdeLENIN I'm shocked White people still own land in Zimbabwe

CdeLENIN Thought Zimbabweans owned Zimbabwe now I see settlers owns land there.

CdeLENIN Not this family, what an irony... 😂

CdeLENIN While Zimbabwean are here fighting for permits, they won't touch Oppenheimer, they are afraid of more sanctions,

CdeLENIN So White South Africans own land in Zim?

CdeLENIN Didn’t Mugabe seize all land from these ones?

CdeLENIN Good luck to him, however, mining takes precedence to farming in Zimbabwe, when can register a mineral claim on ur farm, you’ll have to leave that farm

CdeLENIN That court is paid, faq the Judge

CdeLENIN That time Zimbabweans be like “white people own all the land in your country...”

CdeLENIN confiscate this ill obtained property.

CdeLENIN Haha!
