Italy international Marco Verratti has officially left Paris Saint-Germain to sign for a shock club outside of Europe.

The midfielder joined the Ligue 1 champions in 2012 from boyhood side Pescara in Italy, and leaves the Parc des Princes after amassing 416 appearances for the Paris-based outfit.

Verratti, a 55-time Italy international, has not played for PSG since Luis Enrique's appointment earlier this year, after he turned out for the team on 38 occasions last season. The Italian battled to impress as he registered just a single assist in Christophe Galtier's final campaign in all competitions before eventually becoming surplus to requirements.

In terms of public perception, the midfielder is considered an elite talent in Europe, but injury issues and general inconsistency seem to have stunted his progress.
