The minister also says the report he received from the fund's chairperson, Ernest Khosa, has shown significant progress so far.Nzimande also reflected on other developments affecting some higher education institutions.
"I have received a report from the chairperson of the NSFAS board and the CEO on the progress made thus far since our last announcement. The report received indicates a significant progress made by NSFAS in administering bursaries for students in the 2022 academic year," Nzimande said."The report highlights the registration data that’s been received by NSFAS from our 26 public universities and 50 TVET colleges and payment that have been chosen.
"One of the key guiding principles in the processing of the funding for all eligible students is the work done by both NSFAS and the department of higher education and training in ensuring that 2022. NSFAS eligibility criteria and conditions of the financial aid are approved, published, and adhered to.”
