Batohi said vacancy rates were about 20% on average in the country. The percentage was even higher at specialised units such as the Specialised Commercial Crime Unit and the Asset Forfeiture Unit, at between 25% and 28%.
In actual terms, the NPA had lost about 600 prosecutors since 2015 as a result of not being able to recruit any new prosecutors, Batohi said. The NPA is already reeling from a credibility crisis over the past decade under former president Jacob Zuma. If not adequately resourced it could throw a spanner in the works of President Cyril Ramaphosa's efforts to cleanse the government of the rampant corruption.

My child completed her LLB degree at UWC in April 2019. She even can't get law firm whereby she can do her articles. So how will the NPA be able to adress these high vacancy rates. Black educated and still unemplyed.
Here comes the catch. No money to charge the corrupt. There is a Proceeds from Crime act. Recover stolen monies and use it to recover more. We can bail SAAand Eskom out. CyrilRamaphosa tito_mboweni surely this is more important for our survival and to get the country working
Oh so they made them cash strapped do the couldn't prosecute anyone. SNAKES
