Fewer than four in 10 attendees at these gatherings are from poorer nations that have the highest burden of disease. Gawd - no one wants to attend a conference in a poor country. (Including the people from the poor countries) Maybe since those countries have electricity 24 x 7, limited crime, water and sanitation for everyone, no hunger, working railways and public transport systems, functional government departments and immigration services as well as governments that don’t steal everything they can. What a stupid topic to write an article about given the quality of life in low income countries. Were you scraping the bottom of the barrel for article subject matter ? We all know why people would not want to come to SA for conferences, maybe because they value their life, duh!
