No hover boards! Prohibited items you can't take into the cabin on flights departing from SA | Traveller24_SA

is constantly updating its list of items that aren't allowed in the cabin of a plane departing from South Africa - both domestic and international. This is, of course, to constantly improve the safety of passengers.

SACAA notes that"Items indicated on this list, except firearms, may however be carried in the checked baggage of passengers. This does not include the obvious items considered as harmful items i.e. knives, firearms, explosives, grenades, etc." Further restrictions on items allowed in sterile areas of airports, may be imposed or may differ from country to country, dependant on the Policy of the Local Authorities. For example, Make sure what your specific airline's prohibited food items are when travelling, particularly when it comes to meat products. Interestingly, manicure sets, including small scissors and metal nail files are permitted by SACAA.
