Despite his efforts to make an exit from Old Trafford, Ronaldo has so far been unsuccessful at securing a move to a top European team that will feature in this season's UEFA Champions League.Manager Erik ten Hag has barely worked with the player to date, even though he has officially been in charge of the Red Devils for more than a month now. This is due to the 37-year-old's absence from the majority of the team's pre-season preparations due to a reported family issue.
Following his return to training with the squad last week, Ronaldo managed to get under the Dutch coach's skin after deciding to leave the stadium early with a few of his teammates while United's friendly against Rayo Vallecano was still ongoing, prompting the former Ajax Amsterdam boss to voice his frustration with the group's"unacceptable" actions.
"I always thought he [Ronaldo] was a bizarre signing [for United last season]," he said during a live session of"I always felt this situation would come, even if Ronaldo did great for you [Manchester United]. "He signed a two-year deal plus another year, which I couldn't believe, and he's never going to play second fiddle to anyone, but as players, at a certain stage in your career we all know that you're not the same player, and his career has gone on longer because he's such a great professional."But the fact he's now 37, 38 this season, he's not the same player. He's still a great goalscorer but he's not the same player.
"And I think if you asked Ten Hag, I don't think he wants him. And I'm not quite sure the dressing room at Manchester United would want Cristiano Ronaldo right now."
He should jusy go to Napoli
