South Africa: P2- Ramaphosa condemns xenophobia, warns of action against criminals By News24

KwaZulu-Natal has once again emerged as a hotspot for xenophobic violence, after two people were killed in violence last week, News24 reported.

“Everybody just arrives in our townships and rural areas and set up businesses without licences and permits. We are going to bring this to an end,” Ramaphosa said in speech on the election trail. Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu apologised on behalf of South Africans saying: “Those who have been victims, we want to tell them we are sorry and we will not repeat this,” News24 reported at the time.

Newsdeck: ‘Ramaphosa is running scared’ – DA on cancelled live debateThe DA has charged that President Cyril Ramaphosa's alleged refusal to participate in the much-anticipated Presidential Debates ahead of the May elections is a sign that he is 'running scared'. I doubt that. Maybe he has more important things to do (like run the country since he is the President, you seem to forget 🤔) than to listen to you rant about corruption in the Zuma years (stuck in the past) Bosasa links to OTHER people and ANC blaming... Like we know... ✌

We are Macro economically evaluated according to how much we construct or don't And when the eff get 8n, there will be no construction left.

Newsdeck: Uber, Taxify score poorly in Oxford University study on South African digital platform working conditionsOxford University academics, through the Fairwork Foundation, have published the world’s first rating system for working conditions in the digital economy. The report was piloted in South Africa and India and sheds light on the working conditions at digital platforms in both countries. Hmmm. Seems like there is fundamental disagreement on whether contracting with Uber et al is “work” or a “business opportunity”.
