South African power couple Salamina and Howza Mosese host 'The Ultimatum South Africa' which lands on Netflix in May.

The nine-part series will take viewers on the journey of six couples undergoing a test of trust, true love, desire and honesty. In a not-so-traditional dating show format, requires one partner ready for marriage to issue an ultimatum to their partner who’s wary of taking a trip down the aisle and saying “I do”.

In 2022, Netflix announced that the show was in development. The streaming platform then announced the show’s release date and shared a teaser a few days ago. “Mzansi we’re coming to the world of Netflix Reality with The Ultimatum: South Africa, Hosted by Salamina and Howza Mosese, #TheUltimatumSouthAfrica drops on 10 May 2024! 🔥,” read the post.During the experiment, the six couples break up, date their co-stars and finally choose one person to enter into a trial marriage with, putting their love lives through the wringer as new relationships form and old relationships hang on by a thread.

“Six different couples are on the verge of marriage. One partner in each couple will issue an ultimatum. In just over eight weeks, they must get married, or get out. In the meantime, each will choose new potential partners in a life-changing opportunity to glimpse two different futures,” reads the synopsis of the series.
