Netcare Medical Scheme slams 'unfounded' curatorship application

The Netcare Medical Scheme says there is no basis for the Council for Medical Schemes’ application to place it under curatorship.

Netcare Medical Scheme has slammed an application by the Council for Medical Schemes to place it under curatorship, saying the move by the regulator lacks any justification.that the basis for the CMS's application was its dissatisfaction with the Netcare Medical Scheme's board of trustees and a legal opinion advising the regulator to consider having it placed under curatorship.

"The application relates to a technical issue going back to 2022, which the scheme remedied at the time," Craig Taylor, principal officer of the Netcare Medical Scheme, said in an emailed statement.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
