One of South Africa's biggest banks, Nedbank, is 'delaying accounting' for its role in state capture, after the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) found that interest rate swap transactions as part of a R12 billion club loan 'were concluded without the required authority and not in the best interest of Transnet'.

SIU head Andy Mothibi briefed the Parliament on their work emanating from the Zondo Commission's report.One of South Africa's biggest banks, Nedbank, is"delaying to account" for its role in state capture, after the Special Investigating Unit found that interest rate swap transactions as part of a R12 billion club loan"were concluded without the required authority and not in the best interest of Transnet".

Delivering an update on their work emanating from the Zondo Commission's report to the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services on Tuesday, SIU head Andy Mothibi said big companies and their directors needed to be held to account.
