All northbound lanes have been re-opened at Tugela Plaza according to the N3 Toll Concession after three collisions caused bumper-to-bumper traffic.

The organisation tweeted backlogs are still clearing and urged drivers to drive safely in the dark, wet conditions. Motorists experienced delays of over two hours due to the backlog near Van Reenen's pass on the N3 toll route. Travellers are advised to make use of alternative routes via the N11 Newcastle or R74 Winterton Bergville.
