Msibi’s fate in ANC to be decided as calls for his axing mount | Citypress

Suspects driving in a blue double-cab bakkie allegedly opened fire on a VW Polo. Two ANC members – Sindela Sipho Lubisi and Dingane Ngwenya – were killed, while a third member, Sfiso Mpila, was wounded.Before he was charged with murder and attempted murder, Msibi told City Press that he was inside the shisa nyama to collect an order of meat when the shooting incident happened outside the premises.

Msibi said he paid for the order and went back to Nutting House, where he was attending the ANC meeting. His lawyer, Coert Jordaan, told City Press that the latest charges against Msibi were politically motivated. Jordaan represented Msibi on 10 other charges, ranging from assault, attempted murder theft and malicious damage to property since 2018. Msibi was acquitted on all charges about two months ago.DA leader in Mpumalanga Jane Sithole said that Mtshweni-Tsipane must release Msibi from his cabinet position immediately.

“If the premier fails to act, that will show the people of our province that she will always put the ANC and its comrades first instead of ensuring Mpumalanga is a safe place for all its citizens,” Sithole said.
