Law enforcement officers will not hesitate to discontinue and even impound unroadworthy vehicles, including those with cracked windscreens.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation issued this warning on Friday as it urged motorists to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and licensed before embarking on travel during the festive season.

“This will be in addition to traffic fines and impoundment fees,” RTMC spokesperson Simon Zwane said. Traffic police issued 1,399 traffic fines while 17 truck drivers were arrested for various offences including drunk driving, reckless and negligent driving and fraud.

Pay cool drink and pass that's all they need

Are the roads vehicle worthy?

So what if when I leaves my place my windscreen was ok then following truck on N3 then stone hit windscreen, must I drop my trip just bcos of now cracked glass? Windscreen crack it's unlike expired licence or treatles Tyre. It can happen at anytime.

Petty!!

Will they not hesitate to fix potholes?

That is what will get them killed on the roads, how do you impound a vehicle with a cracked windscreen? That's madness

People travelling by car are vulnerable to the state's extortion tactics. They are soft targets that the state uses to pretend they are 'tough on crime'. Police get to blackmail motorists for all manner of legal traps as a perk of protected government employment.

Coke cola is going to do well over the festive season.

Badakiwe

Windscreen tender?🤔

They are bluffing they can't impound a car cause of a cracked windscreen, they must issue a ticket

But we know we gonna see a lot of overloaded trailers daily

Fusek, they must fix the potholes and eliminate the side dippers, because when we behind them they drop sand or small rocks on our windscreens 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬

That's what they know harassing motorists
