The retrenchments saved the South African Bureau of Standards R68-million but falls short of the R150-million target

are bracing for further retrenchments despite a R68-million reduction in company costs after more than 100 employees opted for early retirements or voluntary separation packages.

The departure of the 109 employees will save the SABS R68 702 373.48 annually but falls short of the R150-million the organisation needs to reach. “Therefore, a section 189 [ ‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌Labour‌ ‌Relations‌ ‌Act‌] process is ongoing although the retrenchments, if it cannot be avoided, will be activated in September 2021.”

An email to His Majesty, King Mswati III of eSwatini - The Mail & GuardianEswatini’s acting prime minister recently encouraged citizens to make use of an email address to express their concerns This is stupidity in its highest form. I'm afraid that the acting PM is a coward and scared to face his family mess What an unfortunate way to engage Bill, with mockery and sarcasm. Quite interesting that this writer felt it was important to call out his race. Sigh.
