After reaching their eighth consecutive CAF Champions League group stages, Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mnqithi feels they have enough quality to win the competition compared to the previous campaign.

The Brazilians defeated Maniema Union 4-2 on aggregate to seal the qualification at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday.

"Even though last year we believed we had a very, very good team. If you can still remember what transpired last season. We performed very well. We were unfortunate against Al Ahly in that a Peter Shalulile goal was adjudged offside. “We are very confident that the group that we have can lift any trophy that is on offer, but we have to take every game and give it the seriousness and attention that it deserves,” he said.

Last night we slept hungry again and my daughter was crying because of hunger. Please assist us with a 2kg mealie meal and tinned fish 🙏🏻. Just so my little girl can eat😔💔. I've been struggling to get a job and in my struggle, my child is suffering💔 I didn't see the matches myself. Just like the vast majority of the population I get to watch one match on a Saturday and that's it. Of course I would like to see more, T20 w cup for e.g. but our sport has been stolen by DStv End sport capture now. sportcapture
