Meghan Markle faced 'disgusting and very real' death threats as royal, senior UK police officer says | Life

Neil Basu, a senior police officer in the UK, says he dealt with threats from far-right extremists against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.The news comes amid a fresh racism row for the royal family after a senior member of the royal household repeatedly asked a black British charity campaigner where she was"really" from.

His comments, in an interview with Channel 4 News broadcast late Tuesday, appear to reinforce Harry's claims about security fears. At the beginning of their relationship, Harry took the rare step of publicly criticising the tone of some media coverage of Meghan. Right-wing Home Secretary Suella Braverman - effectively Basu's boss - has described Albanian asylum seekers as"criminals".
