JOHANNESBURG - Drivers' licenses that expired from 26 March 2020 to 31 December 2020 have been extended for a seven-month grace period. According to the latest Government Gazette, learners' licenses, driving license cards, temporary license cards and professional driving permits are deemed valid for a grace period ending 31 August 2021.License renewals have been negatively affected by the lockdown, with centres struggling to handle backlogs of thousands of licenses.
