In this edition of My Muti Story former youth international Daniel"Massaro" Matsau reveals how coins once helped him score a hat-trick.

Though he refused to mention the names of the club he played for at the time, Matsau who played for the likes of Bloemfontein Celtic, Mpumalanga Black Aces, Kaizer Chiefs and Hellenic says he once experienced first-hand the power of muti in football. "You know at one stage in my football career there was this guy from Durban, a fan of mine who worked in the mines, he gave me a 1 cent and the old 5 cent coin that was silver in colour," Matsau tells"He then told me to place the 5 cents in my hand and wrapped it with a bandage."Yhoo!! I played the whole 90 minutes but after the game, I was asking my teammates if the match was over already. So soon? How is that possible?"I scored three goals that day and we won 3-0.

"After the game, I returned the coins to its owner as he had asked me to. I told him 'it's like it was not me who was playing."
