MARIKANA - Very little has been done to improve public order policing, and recommendations made about the policing system have been disregarded since the Marikana tragedy.

Bruce says there are lessons to be learned from the massacre, but more could've been done.

It’s been 11 years since 44 people died during a strike for better wages at Lonmin Platinum Mine in the North West.At least 10 people were killed in the days leading up to the tragedy.
