JOHANNESBURG - Criminal law attorney Ulrich Roux says the National Assembly speaker's court bid to prevent the National Prosecuting Authority from arresting her seems to be based on the false assumption that she is entitled to special treatment.
She has called on the NPA to provide her with details of their investigation, including the entire police docket."She in my view not entitled to a copy of the docket but she would only be entitled l when the investigation has been completed, the matter has been enrolled in court and the matter has been found to be trial ready and it can proceed to be set down for trial
Political analyst Sandile Swana said the speaker has undermined the status of the executive arm of government and Parliament.
