The suspect’s alleged henchman was arrested in Mpumalanga earlier this week.
Police spokesperson Captain Aafje Botma said the Klerksdorp Cluster Trio Task Team arrested the 38-year-old man on Tuesday, in Ermelo, Mpumalanga. She said the first suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested on February 22. He appeared in the Makwassie Magistrate’s Court on Monday and was remanded in custody until March 5.
“It is alleged that the accused forcefully gained entrance into the house where they found the woman alone. They allegedly overpowered the woman, assaulted her with an iron pipe and raped her. The accused then tied her hands, feet and mouth and drove away with her in her Toyota Corolla.
