Mamelodi Sundowns,Fixture Changes,Domestic Campaign

Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns have encountered more fixture changes as they aim to complete their domestic campaign. The changes are a result of their participation in the African Football League, CAF Champions League, and Nedbank Cup.

Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena plot the way forward for Mamelodi Sundowns after another fixture change.

Complications over Sundowns’ fixtures arose from having played in the new African Football League and now reaching the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League and last eight of the Nedbank Cup.Their last league game away at Cape Town Spurs was moved to April 9 instead of April 6, while the home fixture against Richards Bay FC was brought to April 2 from April 3.

The change of dates for this match has been necessitated by the need to allow the Brazilians an extra day for their long-distance trip to Tunis to face Esperance in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final. Travel on commercial flights from Johannesburg to Tunis is via Dubai or several European stops with a minimum of 16 hours travel time.

The only other league matches not under threat of being moved are the Brazilians’ trip to Kaizer Chiefs on April 30 and the back-to-back games against Royal AM on May 7 and May 11.
