The 24-year-old Malawian national was arrested in April by the Tshwane metro police department (TMPD) for possession of 80m of copper cable.

PRETORIA – The Pretoria Magistrate’s Court has found a 24-year-old Malawian man guilty, after he was arrested earlier this year by the Tshwane metro police department for possession of 80m of copper cable.

“He was found guilty at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court and was sentenced to three years’ direct imprisonment. The TMPD welcomes the sentencing and hopes this will send a stern warning to those who are involved in cable theft,” Mahamba said.

Just 1 out of 1000s of Foreigners wrecking havoc in South Africa. From Spiking cars on our roads to ''hijacking'' our mines. I read 3 were illegal miners were shot dead in shootout with police this week in a Mine in NorthWest. Police should have shot and killed more
