The president of Malawi has reportedly promised his national team a big financial reward if they get a"desired result" in their Africa Cup of Nations tie against Senegal this evening.
The south-east African nation began their tournament with a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Guinea, before they bounced back with a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe.Daily Post Malawi are just one point behind the top two teams in Group B – Senegal and Guinea both have four points from their opening two fixtures – so all eyes will be on their final group match as it will confirm whether they exit the prestigious tournament or go through to the knockout phase.
With the tie scheduled to kick off on Tuesday evening, Malawi president Lazarus Chakwera has seemingly taken it upon himself to inspire his national team to try to beat second-placed Senegal.
