Makhura orders that all school indemnity forms be revised

Lesufi announced that the school principal and staff at the district office have been

pending investigations into the incident. This after it emerged that the trip to the camp was not authorised.of all water-related trips to be escalated. “All indemnity forms need to be appropriately revised, explained and where there is confusion, clarity or a guiding document be formulated. The premier is of the view that these indemnity forms are used to exonerate those that don’t execute their mandate. All water-related trips should get authorisation immediately from head office and no longer at the school or district level.”

Then the schools need to take the parents with on school outings. The reason for indemnity forms is to avoid the DOE being sued in cases where injuries or fatalities occur. Palaza should be held accountable since hes ultimately the one in charge.

Schools must list activities on the form so parents can agree or not

What is the revisions, and the parents first have to review and approve them before it is made law

How about the province pre-approves or pre-qualifies all facilities that wish to attract / hosts learners to their establishments. School inspectors in those areas can also do spot checks on the facilities regularly. Also, some guidelines that schools have to adhere too pre camp

Corrections were long over due its unfortunate that it has to be done urgently because of the spotlight
