Mail fail: Letter deliveries have collapsed in South Africa

There were only 250 million letters delivered in South Africa between September 2022 and the same month last year. This is a 58% fall in volume from the 610 million letters sent over the same time period in 2018/19.

These figures were presented in the latest state of the ICT sector report published by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa . The communications regulator surveyed a host of companies in the ICT and logistics industries to collect data. South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future. News24 has kept the country informed for 25 years, and we're about to enter a new chapter of fearless journalism.

This portal provides access to information on all tenders made by all public sector organisations in all spheres of government.
