Off course we have to outsource the work to the Italians. That's what BEE did? Scrap BEE and maybe we will have the skills again.

More 'izze's' and 'ozzi's' heading our way.

Immaterial of where the Engineers come. Will the idiot's in charge listen and take responsibility and be accountable or will it be this collective responsibility BS again where no one is sccountable

Perspective. Reality.

Italians are not racists, they give black Engineering students an opportunity to train as candidate Engineers. Many black graduates are sabotaged by white Professionals who supposed to mentor them. And then later on laugh at them and ridicule them that they can't do the job.

Why Italian? Why are white SA engineers ignored? More money and forex wasted.

Why not former Eskom engineers who ran Eskom successfully till the 2008?

Why in the first place do we need help from Italian engineers when we had competent and qualified engineers (yes, also white people) working for Eskom. Fact that BEE isn’t a solution

Same Italians who sold us those nonfunctional trains😒

Apparently the same italian company has an interest in IPPs

Surely it would be cheaper employing former Eskom employees? After all they do have the know-how.

Can you please make that report available. The Italians like to call a spade a spade.

who's goin to pay them

And bee and aa is a good thing. SA is falling because freedom fighters think they know how to run a country. Hope the white engineers are having a good laugh now.

The problem is BEE. According to the report.

Mr minister & mr prrsident - if as we know corruption was rampant and has brought eskom to its knees why are the culprits not arrrsted and their assets seized & sold 2 offset against eskom costs? We cant keep talking corruption yet these crooks walk freely among us

Employ the right people

What nonsense is that, we have engineers at the power stations . Is these government not believing in our own South African engineers. You are really becoming irrelevant to this society and it shows are confused is this leadership

Same nonsense that happen with eToll Gantry's ( Sanral)and Chinese trains (Rail Agency). Ncxa......

Are they getting a huge bribe for giving it to the Italians . Idiots

What about koko_matshela

We send our best and brightest all over the world, why can't we use our very own to fix this mess? This outsourcing mentality is what caused this mess in the first place ANC = another national crisis

and who is paying these 'engineers'?

Where is the money going to come from? They can't supply the very product Eskom relies on for income.

This is actually embarrasing

To do what exactly? Ours are useless or is it another way of channeling money out the country using them?

Yeah the local 30% mark engineers don’t cut it.

Hope they not whites?

I wonder what happened to all those engineers who helped build and run Eskom all those years when a crisis like this was unthinkable? Maybe they emigrated, hence the need to import the skills!

Are they going to land at waterkloof like the other buddies of MYANC

Clearly ANC government is not the solution to the problem facing the youth unemployment. NSFAS spent millions to develop our education capability but the government prefer foreigners for our problems!

Sadly where are the South African engineers that build eskom. And with the standard of SA education how are you going to communicate with a foreign language.

If we had the right guys that could fix this problem long ago we would not be sitting with same problem over and over all on the gravy train

We obviously can’t trust South African Engineers... what do they know

So...the local engineers are unavailable?🤔

Forza Italia

Why not utilize South African engineers ? Like those that were pushed out for the sake of demographics ... just saying ... Italian engineers will not be contributing to the economy, whereas our engineers definitely will ...

Where's our own engineers? They rather pay ppl from other countries than here in mzansi

It shows that even the south african engineers are clueless when it comes to eskom, i'd be clueless myself if i was working there as an engineer cause gross negligence and misconduct at eskom and you would be expected to pick up after that mess

It is an an accounting and accountability problem more than an engineering problem. Allow alternative and renewable energy solutions like other civilised countries

Lost the plot PigSpotter

Colonial scum almost as bad as Jan van Riebeeck😂😂😂😂😂😂

So there are no qualified engineers in this whole country to deal with loadshedding?

You mean the local boys sitting at home are the wrong color . Or do they have to speak Italian to unders tand and get the job done .

Once more spending more money on people outside of SA when we can utilize the skills & resources that we have. When they leave & problems occur then blame it on the Italians! Let’s use the local engineers, wake up & smell the coffee
