Cape Town – What 2019 has taught us is the value of streaming algorithms and how the lines between genres are so blurry that some artists defy them.

From South African stars like Sho Madjozi and Kabza De Small and Nasty C to international breakthroughs like Lizzo and Billie Eilish 2019 was the year of talented performers breaking new ground. Sho has had one of the most incredible journeys from Limpopo to the global stage with her hit song John Cena.
